Electromagnetic directional valve uses a heat pump air conditioner to do the refrigeration and heating work conversion switch electromagnetic control valve, belonging to two four-way valve. It is composed of the main valve, directing valve and electromagnetic coil three parts. It is the most complex, precision part  except the compressor in the air conditioner refrigeration system technology. It is also a trouble to do the inspection and maintenance, difficult to judge, not easy to troubleshoot a widget. Except the control circuit fault,the most  common faults are the valve core no action, jams and  leakage, causing the slider not acting or the action does not reach the designated position, etc.


The fault phenomenon

1. The solenoid valve not reversing 
If the electromagnetic valve core or slider cannot move, and fix it in one place, the air conditioner cooling or heating can not transform each other. Generally the most common faults more are only cooling, no heating, at the same time it causes the air conditioner blowing a cold wind over the run outdoor, the indoor machine don't blow hot air, its fault light display and the machine will stop working.

2. The short circuit of the solenoid coil 
When the air conditioning unit heat conversion is ongoing, the electromagnetic valve coil has the large current due to the short circuit, seriously it will burn out the fuse of the main control board or cause trip, which makes the machine doesn't work.

3. The  block deformation of the electromagnetic valve slide
If the slider deformation, even if the solenoid coil has electricity, the valve core of the pilot valve will not act, leading to the slider directional control can not reach the designated position, making the valve internal  body mix with gas, and the high-pressure gas inside the compressor forms short cycle, causing high temperature and high pressure runtil frequent thermal protection, eventually burn out the compressor insulation. For the whole system, cut-off valve high pressure to low pressure side leakage, reduce high/low pressure difference. Usually it manifest to be no refrigeration, no heating, or bad effect.

The causes and elimination of the problems

1. The coil of electromagnetic directional valve has a open circuit, short circuit or burn, the valve core can not be sucked, or it will cause the slider not acting. Then you should replace it.
2. The solenoid valve's armature is stuck,then the valve core cannot move, causing the slider not acting. You can open the body to wash and adjust it.
3. When the power supply voltage is lower than the rated value of the electromagnetic valve,  the import and export pressure difference is higher than the opening valve capacity, there ia often a noise"dadada" in the valve at this moment, causing the valve core cannot suck together. You should improve the power supply.
4. The solenoid valve is installed upside down, causing the valve core not acting.You should adjust the flow direction.
5. The system has high temperature, high pressure and machine contains impurities, causing the slider deformed, jammed. They should be replaced as well.   
6. Remanent magnetization absorbs the valve core or the valve core is jammed, the electromagnetic valve cannot be closed when the power is cut off. Clean and adjust it, if there is no effect,then change it.
7.The electromagnetic valve seal is damaged or the tighten screw gets loose, causing the refrigerant leaks out. Change the gasket and tighten the screws.   
8. Valve on capillary is blocked or fractured; Or the system has a serious leakage,causing the slider not acting. Clean the capillary or using the slightly rough fracture copper pipe to weld.
9. The memory has dirt, the needle valve seat or valve is damaged and the spring force is too small, causing the electromagnetic valve not well-closed. Clean and adjust or replace the spring.
  
In addition, if the reversing valve has internal leakage, causing high pressure refrigerant gas leakage to the low voltage side, can't make establish normal pressure on both ends of the reversing valve piston, reversing valve should be replaced. If cooling system pressure difference is too big, cannot make the reversing valve commutation, or find leak point pressure check the refrigeration system, and fill the refrigerant. If four-way valve block is not action or action does not reach the designated position, check the judge can use the screwdriver with wooden handle, tapping the body, is not connected or disconnected when ac 220 v power supply, repeated several times, heard a armature chorus and body gas reversing sound absorption, can determine the reversing valve basic returned to normal work.
