The system startup, normal parking and emergency shutdown system of the Pneumatic conveying system

The pneumatic conveying system can be roughly divided into the system startup, the system normal parking and emergency stop three working conditions. The following for each conditions are explained briefly.

1. The system startup

Before the system starting up, it needs the whole system filled with nitrogen gas until the oxygen analyzer AT21 instructing the oxygen volume fraction is less than 4%. This process is usually done manually. Due to the materials to be delivered are flammable medium, if its oxygen content is very high,it will cause materials friction burst into flames in the pipeline. Oxygen index after normal instructions,the operator will select the transmission path on the operation site in the controlling room, namely the selection of feeding hopper, rotary feeder, compressor and target bunker. After selection, the selected compressor¡¯s oulet and inlet valve V24A or B, V25A or B, open the compressor bypass valve, open V28, rotary feeder V21A or B ,open at the bottom of the valve, three-way valve V22 point to the selected bin, nitrogen backflow preventer V23A open or B. The above actions are done automatically by  the program. At this point, the system¡¯ startup preparatory work has been completed. The operators in the operating site after issuing the startup instruction, the start steps are: start the compressor; close the bypass valve, the system pre-venting for a certain periodstart the rotating feeder, start conveying the material, the system startup is completed.


2. Normal parking of the system
Normal parking is the  parking instructions issued by the process operator.Its parking steps are: stop the rotating feeder; the system cleaning for a certain period, convey a small amount of material in the pipe into the target bunker; stop the compressor;open the bypass valve, the  parking system is completed.

3. Emergency stop system
Emergency stop is a kind of abnormal condition, the system appears abnormal situations, such as the parameters' overproof of the temperature, pressure and  oxygen volume  or the compressor of its own has a failure.Under these cases,at first, to consider the safety of the compressor and other important equipments. So once the emergency stop occurs, the system will automatically stop the compressor and rotary feeder at the same time, open the compressor bypass valve and make the system in a safe state.
